Cwmbran, Torfaen, United Kingdom – On the 1st of July 2013 a change took place within the fire protection industry across Europe. On this date the Construction Products Directive (CPD) became the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
Whilst this may seem to be a minor change in the wording the effect has wide implications for the industry. The CPR requires all manufacturers of life safety systems to ensure that the products they put into the market conform to the CPR and are tested by a third-party to the relevant European Standard. Products that do not carry a third-party certificate will not be able to hold the CPR documentation and from the 1st July should not be placed onto the market anywhere within the European Union.
FST’s TWINFLEXpro smart 2-wire fire detection system was one of the first products to be fully tested and compliant with CPR, ahead of the deadline. This commitment was part of FST’s continuing drive for innovation, quality and customer service and guaranteed uninterrupted supply to the market for what has become a popular solution for fire system designers, installers and end users.
